Developers must update apps for iPhone 5

Unveiled today, this new smartphone from Apple did not come with many big surprises. This is party due to the specifications being widespread on the internet over the last few weeks, even months. However, one new change will affect all existing apps in the iTunes app marketplace. The new larger screen size of the iPhone 5 will require all existing apps to be updated:

No iPhone app developer wants their app to appear with black borders, so most (if not all) developers will be working as fast as they can to get their updated iPhone app out of the door by September the 21st.
In order for their updated app to be successful, all developers must take into consideration the risk of their update. While at first the update may appear to be a simple update to the code, there are other factors to consider. Just looking at the screen size update, an iPhone App Testing Company will quickly recommend that you functionality test that the screen size change has been implemented successfully by performing a basic test on all screens within the app. Specifically looking for text, image issues that can easily occur with kind of update.
So, after the iPhone app tester has tested that the updated app is good to go on the iPhone 5, thoughts must now turn to regression testing on previous models. Testing should be performed on all previous versions i.e. iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPod-Touch. Let’s not forget the iPads here too, many people run iPhone apps on their iPads. So that means we have another three devices to add, the iPad, iPad 2 and iPad 3.
Many app development companies do not carry the full range of Apple devices, so the best way to get your app tested is to look for an Outsourced iPhone App Testing Company. They should be able to provide you with a deal to ensure your app gets sufficient coverage to ensure it is a success on the iPhone 5 and previous models.
