In the past, when web testing was considered, it was the browser coverage that was the main focus. While that is still the case in some respects, we are now seeing mobile devices being thrown into the mix. As <a href=\"http:\/\/testing4success.com\/services\/webtesting.html\">professional web testers<\/a> here at testing4success.com, many of our clients want to ensure their web developments are thoroughly tested on the usual mix of browsers such as; IE8,IE9,IE10,Chrome, Safari and FireFox. So many people are now surfing the net on their own devices. This is partly due to mobile devices that have larger screens, but also up until recently users had low limits of available carrier bandwidth, and so avoided surfing on their own devices. Now, with modern carrier tariffs, this is not really a concern anymore.<\/p>\n<p>From a test perspective, when assessing a web development and creating a test strategy, its not just the common browsers that are to be considered. This is because there is now a huge range of browsers available to mobile users in the form of downloadable apps. Some have specific features which suit some websites better than others. Take &#8216;Flash&#8217; for example, with the right browser app an iPad user can now access full-flash websites, which is not supported by the default Safari browser.<\/p>\n<p>An interesting statistic from our recent test results is showing that defects from web testing are much more common on mobile devices than on desktop machines, as much as three times more defects are found on a mobile browser than on its desktop counterpart.
